Halloween Gift Bag

I made two of these for my daughter and her roommate for Halloween. Of course I filled them with some chocolate goodies, too!  I purchased the pattern from The Cutting Café. I really love The Cutting Café and have been addicted to Regina's store for years now!

Well, until next time!

My Excuse for Not Crafting

This is the reason I haven't been crafting much over the last 6 months. Meet Miss Millie. She's a golden retriever who is as good as she is naughty. She keeps us hopping, that's for sure!

Dress & Tux Wedding Card

I found this beautiful, lovely wedding card on Pinterest and made it for a wedding I had coming up. You can find the template and tutorial at Practically Functional. It was very easy, but it is very elegant as well.

One More For You...

Here's one more for you that I didn't make with washi tape. Same concept but with scraps.

Washi Tape Mania

A very good friend of mine introduced me to the joys and simplicity of Washi tape. I'm hooked! What could be easier?! Check these out!

Cookin' Up Creations Toss Up Thursday Challenge

Here's the Toss Up Thursday Challenge from March 6th on Cookin' Up Creations and my layout.  I hope you like it!  I only used one side of the two-page sketch.

Freshly Made Sketches #126

I found this site while surfing around and I really like their sketches.  Neat and clean!  I love the examples that were posted, too.  It's called Freshly Made Sketches.  Check them out!  Here's the sketch I used for this anniversary card I made for my nephew and his lovely wife.  I messed it up, though, when I glued it down...  The perfectionist in me wanted to dump it and start over, but I resisted.  I guess I will get to say it's unique, right?  Anyways, here's the sketch I "fashioned" it from and my "unique" card...

OWH Sketch #215

It is an incredibly beautiful day out today.  We actually got over 50 today and the snow is melting FAST!  It's just a little teaser though, as we're expected to be in the 20's on Wednesday.  I don't mind.  I'll take whatever we can get.

I love this week's Operation Write Home sketch #215!  I tend to gravitate towards sharp, clean lines when I card make and I love matting.  So this sketch is right up my alley.  It's neat and sharp and clean...  Anyway, here's the sketch I used and what I came up with.  I loved it so much that I made 4 cards!

OWH Sketch #214

We're in for another frigid night here in the Northwoods.  Expecting about 25 degrees below zero.  Yikes!  Good night to craft!

I LOVE the Operation Write Home Sketch #214 for today!!  I love the clean lines of it.  I will definitely use this sketch a lot!  This is a terrific sketch for use of scraps, for sure.  That's what I used on these two cards.  I believe the paper was from Paper Wishes.  I used grosgrain ribbon on one and baker's twine on the other.  I just got a bunch of baker's twine from LTD Commodities.  I love the stuff!  It came in just about every color of the rainbow.  Here's what I made tonight...

Well, I hope you like them!  Leave me some love!

Until next time...

Cookin' Up Creations Saturday Sketch Challenge

I am truly getting tired of this frigid winter that we're experiencing this year.  We again are under a warning for wind chills and it is expected to be 17 below zero tonight.  It's getting old...  I'm really ready for spring to arrive.

On a bright note...  I am VERY excited to report that our new Golden Retriever puppy was born on Friday, February 21st!  We should be bringing her home sometime around Easter.  Dutchess is going to be a great big sister.  She's been lonely since losing Cedar.

Here's the Cookin' Up Creations Saturday Sketch Challenge for March 1st:

And here's my take on it...

OWH Sketch #213

Operation Write Home Sketch #213 proved to be quite the challenge for me.  It took me a while to come up with these.  I used Stampin' Up stamps for the images, Papertrey ink sentiments and scraps for the rest.  Let me know what you think.  Enjoy!

Sketchy Saturday Layout

Yes. I did a scrapbook layout.  I'll say it again.  I did a scrapbook layout!  I think it's been almost a year since I've done a layout. I enjoyed it very much, but it just takes me so stinkin' long to complete one. I way over-think things and then get frustrated.  I put a little too much pressure on myself.

I used this sketch from the Cookin Up Creations Sketchy Saturday challenge for February 8th.

Heart Punch Flowers

Here are two cards using a challenge on Cookin' Up Creations. The challenge was to use a heart punch to create flower embellishments. Here's my take on the challenge.

OWH Sketch #212 and A Challenge To Myself

GO USA!!! I've been enjoying my weekend with  my daughter, who came home from college for the weekend. We've been watching the Olympics together which has been a ton of fun. My favorite events to watch are probably curling, skeleton, luge, bobsled, snowboarding, hockey and ice dancing.
First, here's my take on the latest Operation Write Home sketch. Very simple. Very easy!
We're anticipating more snow tomorrow (around 6 inches) so I see some more card making in my future. I was looking through all my stamps and realized just how many stamps I haven't used very much, if at all. Yes. I have a LOT of stamps I purchased and haven't even used. I'm sure no one else out there has that issue [Wink, wink]. Anyhow, I am going to challenge myself each week to use some of those sad, lonley, neglected stamps in my collection. Here are my selections for this week.  These are Hero Arts background stamps that are really fun to layer with. Can't wait to get creative with them!
Well, until next time...

More Olympic Creations

Did a little Olympic watching this afternoon and tonight. Am I weird because I like watching curling? I find it quite intriguing. I may just have to research it a bit and find out exactly how it is played. I really loved the funky pants that Team Norway was sporting, too. My hubby said they reminded him of the Partridge Family bus.

Anyway,  here's a few cards I made tonight. My mojo wasn't really flowing. I don't think that they're my best work. But they're definitely not my worst.

Until next time...

Olympic Card Creating

I absolutely love watching the Olympics. My husband. Not so much. So, because he is the king of the remote,  I'll be spending a lot more time in my scrap studio the next couple of weeks! He totally frustrates me when we watch television together. He spends more time watching what he's missing than what he's watching. Can I get an amen?! I know I'm not the only girl out there that has a channel flipper in the house. Anyway, I've spent the last two nights in my scrap studio doing a little straightening up and some Olympic creating. Here's a few cards I did.

Well, until next time...

Valentine's Day Cards

I finally made it to my scrap studio yesterday. The first couple hours were spent cleaning it up from my Christmas projects. It was bad... then I settled in and created these cards for my daughter and her college roommate for Valentine's Day. I am still getting a bit frustrated with my Copic markers. I love the results of shading and all but I can't seem to learn how to stop the bleeding. You know what they say though... practice makes perfect, so I guess I need to use them more if I want to learn. There is definitely a learning curve with Copic markers. Anyway, here's my creations.

Until next time...
